Painting Experiment
I painted these two paintings side by side. One (the top) I painted on a reduced printout of the line work that was printed in a very light blue. I painted that and layered in the black line over it with Photoshop. The second (bottom) was painted right on the original. I made mistakes with both. still adjusting to how my scanner picks up color. It looks different scanned then it does to the nekkid eye. I went too heavy airbrushing the smoke on the original art. Interesting experiment.

Painted poster
This was an experiment in painting with Dr. PH Martin's watercolor dye directly on the original drawing. It's been awhile since I painted and I'm fairly satisfied with the results. The vibrancy of the paints cause some variation from what the eye picks up and what the scanner picks up. When the scanner hits the drawing with light, things stand out more then what the eye sees. The face of the boy is too saturated, the sky is deeper and the purples stand out more, which I didn't want. Either way, a learning experience and on to the next experiment.

Michael Patrissy Inks
My friend Michael Patrissy, artist of North Shore Paranormal decided to try his hand at inking this image. Check out his website http://giantrobotsuit.com/ . I think he did an awesome job. It's always fun to see another artist ink my work. It's only happened a few times and it's educational to see what choices they make. My thanks to Michael. He and I have discussed a little something that we might do that would have him inking a handful of my drawings. I hope I can motivate myself to get it off the ground. More to come ;)
